File a maintenance email to the right unit

A resident emails the general address with no unit number and a blurred photo. Dash works out which unit it is from the sender history, files it against that unit, and says plainly which part it is not certain about.

@Dash there is a leak email in the general inbox with no unit on it. Can you place it?

Almost certainly Camelback Terrace 2C. Filed there, flagged as inferred rather than stated.

  • Why 2C · the sender address matches the resident on the 2C lease, and the same address opened two requests for 2C in the last year
  • What the mail says · water under the kitchen sink since yesterday evening, a towel down, no cabinet damage described
  • What I filed · a new request against 2C, plumbing, opened today, photo attached

The part I am not certain about: the mail never names a unit and the photo does not show one. If this resident has moved within the building since the lease was signed, the inference is wrong. That is worth ten seconds of checking before a vendor is sent.

She moved to 3A in May.

Then the inference was wrong and the record needs moving. I have refiled the request against 3A and left the original entry visible with a note saying it was moved, rather than deleting it.

The reason I got it wrong is that the lease document I read is the 2C one. The 3A lease is not in the folder I can see, which is worth fixing for the next time.

I will get the 3A lease uploaded. What do you need to not repeat this?

The current lease per unit in one place. When there are two leases for one resident, I will use the later start date and say which one I used, instead of picking silently.

Added that to how I handle this channel.
